This weekend from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, we have the opportunity to witness none but two UFC world title fights which have been in the making for quite some time.
In the co-main event, for Bantamweight title challenger Valentina Shevchenko squares off opposite former several time Strawweight women’s champion, Joanna Jedrzyczyk for the new and vacant women’s 125 pound Flyweight world title strap.
Both of these women have a friendly competition that dates back to their amateur fighting days in the European Muay Thai Championships. Valentina managed to come out on top every battle, albeit with more experience each time and she is the bigger fighter.
More on the size difference afterwards.
The principal event may feature the most anticipated fight of 2018! I know that the announcement, but think about it. Minus Conor vs Khabib, there isn’t a struggle I was hyped for than this one all year.
Jon Jones’s return is going to undoubtedly, be fairly awesome but this is the second time these two men have gone through a full battle camp in preparation for their fight. The first time around, Max Holloway was hauled out of the contest at the last minute by the athletic commission for weight cutting issues.
Most fans and media are still speculating as to what’d Max sounding so punchy and slurred in interviews past that possible first fight w Ortega back on July 4th of this year.
