This weekend in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, we have the chance to witness none but two UFC domain fights which have been in the making for quite a while.
In the co-main occasion, for Bantamweight title challenger Valentina Shevchenko squares off opposite former several time Strawweight women’s champion, Joanna Jedrzyczyk for its brand new and vacant women’s 125 pound Flyweight world title strap.
These two women have a friendly competition that dates back to their amateur fighting times in the European Muay Thai Championships. Valentina was able to come out on top every battle, albeit with more experience every time and she’s the larger fighter.
More on the size gap later.
The main event may feature the most anticipated fight of 2018! I know that is quite the declaration, however, think about it. Minus Conor vs Khabib, there isn’t a struggle I was hyped for than this one all year.
Jon Jones’s return will, undoubtedly, be fairly awesome but this is the second time these two guys have gone through a complete fight camp in preparation for their fight. The first time around, Max Holloway was hauled from the competition at the last minute by the athletic commission for weight loss cutting problems.
Most fans and media are still speculating as to what’d Max sounding punchy and slurred in interviews past that possible first fight w Ortega back on July 4th of this year.
