The division of the WWE women dominated the speaking things in pro wrestling this week – and most importantly because of this return.
Bayley sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch were all over the discussions of both along with both the broadcast Raw and SmackDown. With a bang, the quartet have become much back Following a spell on the sidelines for Banks.
A steely border was shown by bayley by delivering a promo on SmackDown that raised eyebrows and hitting at Lynch and then Flair using a steel chair.
It was a voucher which pointed on the part but was also of Bayley.
The initial reaction to this chair shots was supposed to cheer, and also to get a’Yes’ chant to break out, before the arena full of boos because Bayley and Banks made their exit the ramp.
Subsequently the chair shots were cheered, the audience started to chant for Becky Lynch. Who’s the face and who’s the heels? Who is at the right and who’s in the incorrect? Arena audiences do not appear to understand, and it’s creating a fascinating circumstance.
It’s been a great week for WWE’s women’s division and it feels like this is only the beginning of what might be something. A vital element of this (admittedly somewhat short so far) success is that all four of the Horsewomen have developed personalities.
Lynch is your self-styled’Man’ who has a messiah complex and believes – perhaps somewhat correctly – which she’s the one that has elevated the division to new heights. Flair is egotistical and nepotistic but also very conscious of the chances she has been given by her title at the company as well as her heritage.
trait has not shown itself yet, and so far her return on WWE has been about dethroning Lynch to do so, along with re-asserting her position as the alpha of this division, although banks is unquestionably manipulative.
And then there is Bayley; owner of a person with and undoubtedly the persona this week. It’s been a subtle tweak, but also; nonetheless, there is little subtlety in hitting someone yet this character isn’t that different from the person she has been around for years.
Bayley still wishes to be the role model to the lovers, she wants to raise the division of the women and she wants to give also the spotlight and feature matches to competitors who’ve maybe been overlooked.
However, it’s becoming down using an intense disconnection from reality and a feeling of devotion to inventories that, while still an admirable trait and one befitting a function prototype, is hardly a thing to look around as it manifests itself in violence.
She is the heels who does not realise she’s a heel. She is not reliant upon the’heating’ of a hometown insult or even more villainous actions. The consequence is that their parents are not being stated role models when she talks of being a role model to young lovers. It is like she is talking of a deed, of If she speaks to inventories of her devotion.
There are colors of Kurt Angle heels perform in play here, in addition to a knowing acknowledgement of this criticism Bayley faced for her babyface promos which referenced the fact that she was a WWE fan as a child.
From this stage, there is so much they could do using these four. Banks and flair have title games against, respectively, on September 15 Lynch and Bayley in Clash of Champions. In the space of a week, these 2 games have come to be the very hotly-anticipated on the card.
The pay-per-view for October is Hell In A Cell – what price a between each of four with a single of, or maybe even both, singles titles on the line? Or possibly a two-against-two in which Flair and Lynch are compelled to formed an alliance that would be uncomfortable considering the brutality of their feud over the past calendar year.
Survivor Series is after that, and will sponsor the champion-against-champion matches. Lynch missed due to her Nia Jax-inflicted accident, together with Flair carrying her place against Ronda Rousey. That storyline, in addition to the Bayley-Banks rematch that is perennial, is. The options are infinite.
If WWE want to build up to something particular, they ought to map storylines for those four that lead all of the way.
If it built and is written the narrative may be told of this Four Horsewoman gradually putting their differences aside and linking to face a frequent enemy – the four-woman group led by Rousey.
It is a long shot, and a lot would have to happen between now and then but imagine itthe WWE Four Horsewomen at a steel cage against the MMA Four Horsewomen of Rousey in WrestleMania. It wouldn’t get much larger than that.
But such things are a very long way off. The division of the women is red-hot back in WWE, and there will be a lot of chances for intrigue at the coming weeks and months as the Four Horsewoman’s personalities come to the fore.
The Four Horsewomen are back, and their importance of WWE has this week been enormously reinforced whether they might be in a state of civil war.
