There’s a good deal of money to be obtained this week on DraftKings including a top prize of $25k from the main tournament. DK also has lots of Qualifier contests available this week, in which the final event will pay $50k to 1st for those who did qualify to play inside. I will be pursuing those as well since we’ve not ever had a $50k 1st place prize and I want it. We didn’t have one fight fall off but we still have a 13-fight card. This is a superb card to construct your bankroll for the first Sunday of NFL so you can pursue that $1M.
Cash Game play of this week — Zabit Magomedsharipov ($9,400)
Zabit is going to be super chalky in tournament. Everybody who had Shevchenko within their lineup will switch to Zabit and he will likely be the most possessed fighter on the slate. In money games we don’t care about ownership as much and I will be starting my money team with Zabit. I think he’s the simplest win on the card plus he has the highest ceiling too. I believe if you would like to find sneaky and not utilize Zabit, the GPPs would be the place to do that. Lock him in money and choose the easy win. Then you only have to find about 3 other wins and you ought to have a winning cash group.
GPP drama of this week — Alex White ($8,600)
I think Jim Miller is close to the finish of his career and I am thinking this is going to be the last time we see him at the UFC. I think he is going to be handed his 5th loss in a row here and I am guessing it is going to be via knockout. I believe Alex White will be too strong and quick for Jim Miller at this phase in his career and I believe he will be able to keep this fight on the feet. With everyone paying up for Zabit in GPPs, Alex White and some other mid-range favorites might be a fantastic way to go to make your lineups more contrarian and try to get 1st place in a GPP like that. I really do like White a good bit in this struggle and I think he has 100+ point potential at a $8.6k salary. For that reason, he is my GPP drama of the week.
Underdog drama of the week — Diego Sanchez ($7,300)
Diego Sanchez is my underdog drama of the week since I do not think Craig White is any good. Sanchez may be entirely shot, and if this is the situation he could get KO’d early. But I really don’t think Craig White ought to be -200 contrary to any UFC fighter. Diego is economical enough where it allows you to get some of those higher favorites you enjoy in your lineup, and I believe he will get a decision win here. He will be my choice to win, however it is not a confident pick and I think he makes to get a better GPP play than cash punt.
Fade of the week — Aljamain Sterling ($8,500)
I am excited about seeing this fight and I’ll be choosing Aljo to get the win . My difficulty is that I don’t believe he is very likely to score highly, and maybe not even 10x his wages. I think a lot of this fight will happen on the toes and Aljo doesn’t throw in a high enough speed to score well in a striking match. He’ll have to get this fight to the floor a few times and rack up some advance points for him to score tremendously. I don’t see that occurring. I think this will be a very close fight and I would rather just pay up for any of the fighters above Sterling. I believe we’d be taking a look at a score about 70-75 DK points with an Aljo decision win here.
